License conditions and requirements may be imposed on some driver licenses and/or learner permits due to medical reasons, offences, and/or legal requirements.

Compulsory Carriage Requirements
Some drivers are legally required to always carry their driver license and/or learner permit when driving or in charge of a motor vehicle. These drivers must be able to produce their license and/or permit at the request of Victoria Police or an enforcement officer.
The following drivers must always carry their driver license and/or learner permit when driving or in charge of a motor vehicle if they are:
- a learner permit holder
- a probationary license (P1 or P2) holder
- a driver license holder, under the age of 26
- a driver license holder whose license subject to an ‘E’, ‘I’ or ‘Z’ condition
- driving a vehicle listed below, beyond an 80km radius of the vehicle’s normal place of business:
- a bus,
- a motor vehicle (not a bus) that’s being used as a single unit and has a GVM greater than 15 tonnes,
- a motor vehicle (not a bus) that’s being used in combination with one or more trailers and has a GCM greater than 15 tonnes.

- I – alcohol interlock device
- S – glasses or corrective lenses
- V – driver aids or vehicle modifications
- X – any condition or restriction VicRoads has advised you of in writing
Conditions that may be imposed on a driver license
Conditions that may be imposed on your driver license are:
- A – automatic transmission
- B – synchromesh transmission – heavy vehicle only
- E – LAMS restriction, no pillion passenger and zero BAC
- I – alcohol interlock device
- N – automatic transmission (motorcycle)
- S – glasses or corrective lenses
- V – driver aids or vehicle modifications
- X – any condition or restriction VicRoads has advised you of in writing
- Z – zero blood alcohol limit
